Cover your ears...

So, I have decided that Baby Kintz does NOT like loud noises! I went to church on Sunday morning feeling wonderful walking into church and even the first ten minutes. Once the music started (and it was loud) I started getting this horrible cramp/sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I got up and walked out and it stopped.. Went back in and it started again. Once the music stopped and the preaching began it stopped again. I did not feel that pain again until I was in 5th period yesterday and my 5th period is out of control. They were soo loud and boom the cramp started again. In trying to figure out what was going on, I realized that Baby Kintz must be trying to tell me that the music and noise is not what it wants!!!! Or maybe he/she is trying to dance around like mommy always does when music is on! Either we have a dancer or someone who is very sensitive to music!!!!!!! We shall see....

What else is new at 17 weeks????
The clothes are fitting tighter and tighter each week! STILL feeling wonderful and no complaints to report. Ever since I have been pregnant, I have been cold non stop. I used to sleep in tank top night gowns and be just fine. Ever since Ive been pregnant I sleep in pants, nightgown, snuggie, socks, etc.. For some reason my body cannot heat up and now with this weather of 40 degrees, I am really freezing. Not sure how I am going to make it in Ohio for Christmas but guess I will have to get over it. Other than that, life is wonderful. :)

Pregnant Life

Well, I cant complain... Life has been pretty good since being pregnant!!! Let me back up since it has been a LONG time since I have written a post. For those of you who have not heard all the news yet, the first week in September I found out I was pregnant! I say I, not we, because I took the test (okay, lets be honest... 3 tests) on a Friday afternoon and did not tell Mike until Saturday afternoon. He had a football game and I wanted the time when I told him to be meaningful, not 5 minutes before his football game. He got home at like midnight and woke up at 5am for more football. I finally got to tell him and then headed out to the beach to celebrate labor day. I am due May 14, 2011. We were so excited about the news and wanted to tell everyone, but had to wait til 3 months before sharing it with EVERYONE. So far each ultrasound (we have had 2 so far) have been wonderful! The baby is moving and wiggling like crazy. At the last appointment, the doctor mentioned they have never seen such an active baby before. It took a good 20 minutes just to get the heartbeat because baby Kintz would not sit still. I have had absolutely no morning sickness to report. I would get a bit light headed feeling during second period each day which is right before lunch, but would chug a bottle of water and feel back to normal. I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and have not gained any weight yet, but the belly is starting to really pop. Today I had a student say: "Mrs. Kintz, you used to be skinny and now you are getting kind of fat". Made me feel just wonderful! :) I am still in between wearing maternity pants and regular pants which is such an awkward stage. I have resorted to mostly maternity tops though to cover me up at school. Plus, maternity clothes can be really comfortable!!! I have had a few emotional mood swings, but have been pretty good in that category as well. Mike may give you a different viewpoint, but I think I have been fine. The only difference is my size and that after working all day at work, I come home and just crash. I want to go to bed at like 6pm every night because I am so worn out. I have a feeling this is only going to get worse with having a baby! haha. As I said, I can't complain and have had a pretty good pregnancy so far. Baby is healthy and that is the #1 thing I need to know! :) Stay tuned because on December 22 we will finally be able to stop calling Baby Kintz an "it" and call it a boy or girl......

Fall and Football

I Love FALL!!!! Last weekend I went to breakfast at Appleton's which is a hole in the wall mom and pop type place where they decorate every inch of it for the holdiays. As you walk in mummys are making noises and lighting up as things are popping out at you. My mom, sister, niece, and myself all went and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast while taking in the scenery. After that we all went and bought new Halloweeen/Fall decorations for my house. I came home and decorated the house and ate caramel apples. It was the perfect start. The only part missing was the cooler temperatures. However; this week in the morning and late evenings it dropped to about 65 degrees which is a lot cooler than usual. During mid-day it was still upper 80's or so but better than the HOTT summer.

Every Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday during the fall we get to watch football. I love it because usually we cheer for different teams so I am downstairs watching the Razorbacks while he is upstairs watching Ohio State and we can hear eachother cheering/yelling from the opposite place. We often come together on Sundays for the Colts even though he is not a huge fan. I still cant believe the Colts lost last week by a 59 yard field goal. However; they WILL WIN today. I get so into the games and find myself screaming at the tv and jumping up and down when they are about to score! So today I am going to make myself some waffles and enjoy the nice fall day watching NFL football! GO COLTS!!!!

One last thing that I am SOOO excited about.... Mike and I do not get to see eachother much during football season because I coach cheerleading and intramurels at my school which takes my weeknights away and he has football Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday mornings. He is also going to be coaching basketball this year which means even less time together. Therefore; he booked us a little weekend getaway to the beach. He rented us a house to stay in that is directly on the beach. We can sit out back and each dinner while looking at the waves crash. We will be going there October 22-24 because Mike does not have football all weekend. I cant wait to relax on the beach while spending time with my husband!!! :)

Live Each Day to the Fullest

Live each day to the fullest- you never know when it will be the last! Until I was 24 years old, I had never had anyone in my family pass away. This year it has all hit. In February my Great-Grandmother who I loved so very much passed away without any notice. She was feeling great and said it was probably the best she had felt in a long time, walked to dinner and after dinner just passed away in her chair. She went very peacefully and for that I am grateful, but I miss her so much!!!! In July my Grandpa Chauncey passed away after a long couple years of struggling. He had not sat up from his bed or talked in two or three days until my parents flew into town and my aunt and uncle flew into town. All three of his children were in his hospital room and he sat up and stared at all of them without saying a word and laid back down and he was gone! I guess he felt comforted knowing he got to see his children one last time. I miss his also!

Last night I got a phone call while sleeping from my mother who was very upset. Come to find out one of her best lifetime friends, Julie Dubler, had lost her husband last night. I feel as though they are family as I have known them my entire life and we have vacationed together and they came to our wedding, etc. He went out for a jog and upon returning had a heart attack and was found in their yard by their 5th grade daughter. Such a sad story! My heart is hurting for their family today.

It definitely hit me this year that you need to live life to its fullest and stop each day and take in all the wonderful things and people you are blessed with. I did not write this to bring others down or make them upset, I am writing this as a positive to get out there and enjoy life! There is not enough time to get angry over every little thing or get caught up in the small stuff. Enjoy life because you never know when it could be over!

T.G.I.F

I remember the days when Friday would come and you had to hurry around and make plans or else you were a "loser". I would have sleepovers and go to the movies and bowling, etc. I would get mad if mom and dad made me be home by a certain time because 1am was just not late enough. Boy how times have changed!! My Friday's now consist of dinner with parents or grandma and then sitting at a football game watching my husband coach while looking at my watch to see its 9pm which is WAYY past my bedtime. This week cheerleading started on Monday and Wednesday, intramurels started on Tuesday, open house til 8pm Thursday, and fall social til 6pm Friday. What happened to the energy I once had to keep up with the busy schedule? I am only 24 but feel as though I am in a 90 year olds body this week. Anyways, in case you were wondering what I would be doing this weekend.... NOTHING! You can find me cuddled up in my snuggie catching up on all the season premier shows I missed this week.

About the season premier shows.... I have to watch Biggest Loser, Dancing with the Stars, Hells Kitchen, Survivor, and many more... YAYYY!! In watching all of these shows I was wondering which is the most watched show of them all right now? I would say Survivor is my favorite but was curious if anyone else felt that same way. Oh well, off to bed and ready for a fun filled day with Tivo and jammies tomorrow!!! Goodnight all!

Key West Family Vacation 2010

On Tuesday July 20, 2010 we took off for Key West, Florida. Mom and dad had decided that they wanted to take all of their children and their significant others on a vacation since we have not done so since I was 18 years old. We stopped and stayed in Miami on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning we left Miami. Mom and dad rented a house for us siblings to stay in while they had a hotel room for the two of them. We had such a wonderful trip! The first day we went and laid by the pool at the hotel and then explored Key West. Our cab driver told us of a local restaurant that served all you can eat crab legs and we decided to try it out. We thought it may not be that great since it is all you can eat, boy were we wrong. It was AMAZING. We all seemed to agree that it was the best crab!! We sat there for a good two hours eating. We then walked all over Key West and listened to some live bands play. On Thursday we rented scooters. This was the eventful day. We each had our own scooters so there were 8 of us trying to keep up together driving down the roads of Key West. About 20 minutes into the ride, I was trying to back my scooter out of my parking spot and accidentally pushed the gas. It took off and I flew along with it ramping a curb. As soon as I thought I had it under control and the scooter was laying on top of me, I accidentally pulled the gas again trying to pick up the scooter and off it went again dragging me along behind it into a telephone pole. I have a thing for poles because a few months ago I ran into a metal pole and knocked my teeth out. However; I was alright this time just scratched and bruised up. The scooter had some minor damage and we continued on our ride. We decided after about 5 hours of stopping at every stoplight we wanted some open road to just go as fast as we could. We decided to go on the main highway over the bridge to enter Key West. Hunter took the lead and was flying so fast down the 55 mph highway at about 25-30 mph while Mike took the caboose only going about 15-20 mph because his scooter was broken. All 8 of us were spread out in a single file line driving down the lane of the major highway. Dad and Mike decided after about 8 miles to pull off because they could not catch everyone. We were trying to get up to Hunter to tell him to turn around but he was just flying down the highway. Finally, we all decided to turn around and go find Mike and dad. As we were heading back after about 9 miles on the highway, we hear police sirens and lights pulling us over. We look ahead and dad and Mike are on the side of the road with another cop. They told us how dangerous it was to be doing what we were doing and how we were not allowed to be on that main highway. No tickets were issued but they escorted us all the way back to the island. What an adventure! We went back and hung by the pool before hitting up an all you can eat buffet on Duval Street. This night us siblings headed back to the house and stayed up until about 4 am playing the one and only "Loaded Questions". This was the night Hurricane Bonnie was supposed to roll through Key West but never showed up. On our last day in Key West we ate lunch at Willy T's on Duval street and then went shopping a bit. We decided to do the pool one more day and then get ready for our fancy dinner. Dad made reservations at Braza Lena which is a Brazilian steakhouse. They treated us to a wonderful dinner and desserts!!!! We then went back to the hotel and played Apples to Apples as a family. The next morning we drove back home and got some much needed rest! It was an excellent trip and I hope we can do this every year! It was so nice to just have our original Witter family with our significant others! :)

Cruisin...

It had been years since Mike and his mom and grandmother had been on a vacation together. We decided this year would be a perfect time. On June 21 we boarded the cruise in Port Canveral, FL. The cruise itenerary went from Port Canaveral to CoCoCay, Bahamas to Nassau, Bahamas, and back to Port Canveral. It was a 4-night cruise on Royal Caribbean. We absolutely loved our trip. It was relaxing to be away, but we stayed very active on the ship with laying out, swimming, shows, games, etc. The day in CoCoCay, you had to get on a small boat to take you to the private island where we hung out all day. On the way back from the island, Mike and I boarded a boat where a stretcher was being brought on board from a young man (about 18 years old) who had a seizure and almost drown in the ocean while snorkeling. Come to find out later this was worse than we all thought and our cruise ship had to dock one night early in Nassau to send this guy back to the U.S. to a hospital. Therefore; we docked early and Mike and I decided to get off the boat and make a night of it at Senor Frogs. It was a great time and we danced the night away to the local band. We also participated one night in the adult scavenger hunt where it was so much fun but very dirty! Mike ended up at the end of the night going on stage in just his boxers, my bra, womens shoes, and a purse. He had to dance across the stage while being video-taped. Im sure it will be posted on Youtube someday. haha. On the ship, dinners were wonderful as we ate several courses each night and sometimes even getting double main courses or appetizers. The food is by far the best part of cruising- It never stops! Some nights we would get really hungry at 2 am and run up to the top deck for pizza and cookies. In Nassau, we took a boat over to the Atlantis Resort and walked around the aquariums and resort. It is such a beautiful atmosphere! Overall, it was a wonderful cruise and we really enjoyed our company. We hope to go cruising again very soon. It is our favorite form of vacation!

Jimmy Buffett.... Under the Big Top

On April 24, 2010 Jimmy Buffett started his new tour "Under the Big Top". Mike and I have tried going to three concerts since we have been married and this is the first we finally made it to. Although it is Mike's 33rd time to see Buffett, it was my first! We went down with Matt and Ashley, Ryan and Mel, Sara and Rusty. The eight of us drove to Tampa around 10 am on Saturday morning. We hung out at the pool of our hotel all day enjoying ourselves playing corn hole, catch phrase, and loaded questions. We soaked up quite a bit of sun and had an excellent day! Then we all showered up and got on the hotel shuttle to the concert. Once arriving at the concert, we walked around and admired all the CRAZY tailgaters. We decided we were so glad we hung out at the pool instead after seeing the horrible port-a-potties and people stumbling around sick. We had lawn seats so we were quite a ways from the stage, but the music was fantastic. His encore song, Tin Cup Chalice, is one of mine and Mike's favorite songs so we were so happy he played it. Mike and I danced the night away from slow songs to fast jumping up and down songs. He also covered a Kenny Chesney song, Back Where I Come From. I have been to several concerts, but this had to be one of the best ever! I now know what all of Mikes friends talk about saying Buffett is one of the best entertainers!! If you get a chance to go, even if you are not a huge fan, GO!!!

One Year Anniversary

APRIL 18, 2010........Where has the time gone? I can't believe we have already hit our one year anniversary! For this anniversary we decided to go out to a nice dinner together. We chose to go to Texas de Brazil for Brazilian cuisine. It is the restaurant where they come around with several different meat options and it is an all you can eat type of deal. Even though it is very expensive, we had an excellent meal and enjoyed it thoroughly! We got a free bananas foster for dessert but the cheesecake looked too good to pass up, so we shared two desserts! After going to dinner we walked around the outlet malls and just window shopped. It was a beautiful evening! We then came home to watch our fifth season of Weeds. That show is amazing (corrupt but amazing)! This was all the night before our anniversary. On the actual day, Mike played NCAA wii games for about 5 hours while I worked on lesson plans- a typical romantic Kintz day. haha. It was a fabulous weekend and I am so blessed to be married to my best friend! As exciting as an anniversary is, it makes you feel a bit of sadness because you miss the wedding. I would give anything to go back to that wonderful night and live it all again! :)

Mike and Katie

So, I am completely new to this and not quite sure how to work this yet. I figured I would start our first post about us! Mike and I met in Winter Springs, FL on July 4, 2008. Soon after, I moved back to Arkansas to finish up school. He flew into town and surprised me and we got engaged on October 18, 2008. Very quick- I know! When you know, you know! We then got married at Daytona Beach Shores on April 18, 2009. We went to Ochos Rios, Jamaica on our honeymoon and had the best time! Upon returning from our honeymoon, we have lived in four different places. We rented a house, an apartment, stayed with my parents, and finally in January bought our first home together. We are very happy with our purchase!!! Now Mike is teaching ESE (special education) Lake Mary High School and is the defensive coordinator for the football team. I am teaching 7th grade math at South Seminole Middle School. I also direct Hurricane Games (intramurels), am a cheerleading sponsor, and tutor a group of students every week. Needless to say, we stay VERY busy.
